The city of Jerusalem around the world knows.City of Jerusalem (City of Peace) is probably one of the most famous cities in the world. Not only a holy city for celestial religions (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim) but also famous for its archaeological monuments. This is the city of Temple Mount, Western Wall (the remnants of the Second Temple), Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Tower of David and the Golden Gate.This is also a city of the Last Supper, and Church of the Holy Sepulcher (in which Jesus was crucified).

Jerusalem is a city located at an altitude of about two and a half thousand feet above sea level.Mount of Olives is also located nearby. Jerusalem received a large number of visitors from many international tourists. Apart from the archaeological monuments, another favorite site is the Israel museum, houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Enshrined in the annals as the city of David, the spiritual and religious center of the Jewish people. has a history of the nation's first since Israel gained control over the city around 1400 BC Some of the highlights of the famous past, including:

  • King David declared Jerusalem as the capital in the 10th century BC.
  • Nebuchadnezzar (Babylon) took Jerusalem in 586 BC.
  • Alexander the Great entered the city in 332 BC.
  • Pompey captured the city in 65 BC. And under Herod, the city was rebuilt along the lines of Rome.
  • The Jewish revolt against Rome in 70 AD
  • The city witnessed a brief period of Persian rule between AD 614-629
  • City fell to Umar in the year 636 AD
  • Crusaders captured the city of Jerusalem in 1099 AD.
  • Falling into the hands of Saladin in 1187 AD.
  • British captured Jerusalem in 1918, and the area became a British Mandate Palestine in 1922.
  • The birth of modern Israel in 1948 captured Jerusalem as the eternal capital.


  • Jerusalem became a hotly contested city from time to time between divine religions, and perhaps until the Hour comes.
