What I do when
I fall into this slump
Is write about the trouble
And hopefully pull myself out
I could imagine that this procedure
Is not what ball players do.
Because there is no manager to bench me
Or send me to the minors
And they just keep on
Swinging and swinging and swinging
Then struck out.
What trouble.
For multi-million dollar Athletes
Some sure could do a whole lot better
But I, buy my time
Foul balls on full counts.
And I've probably been through
The whole bullpen twice over
With them bringing the heat
Inside, Inside, again...
Give me a ball
And let me take my base already- Dan Walters -
